The Treatment Process
A complete smile makeover can involve more than one type of restoration and may require the involvement of altering your bite and its relationship to your facial muscles. Your active participation is critical to the success of this type of treatment. Measurements, impressions and photos are taken for the purpose of gathering pertinent information for designing an aesthetically pleasing, symmetrical and functional smile. A swallow bite is taken to determine a proper comfort relationship of your bite to your muscles.

Shades, translucencies and teeth shapes are determined. This information is used by both Dr. O’Neil and the dental lab technician. Teeth are prepared and gums are cosmetically reshaped for balance and harmony. Because we may be incorporating various types of cosmetic and restorative dentistry techniques, some teeth may be restored in one visit. Other teeth may require final impressions that are sent to a dental lab for fabrication. You will have temporary teeth placed on the prepared teeth to be worn while the permanent restorations are being designed. An interim evaluation appointment will determine your comfort and function while wearing your temporary teeth, which, in most cases, is a plastic-like replica of what your new teeth will look and feel like. At your last appointment, your new high tech, long-lasting, beautiful restorations will be inserted and laser bonded for a profound and astounding result.
